Other Influencing Factors in the application of Full Spectrum Specific Immunotherapy

It is important to view treatment of cancer patients as a multi disciplinary approach.  The aim of this treatment is to strengthen your immune system both in a specific an general manner.   While the application of Full Spectrum Specific Immunotherapy (PSI) addresses the specific immune response defect for that patients tumoral manifestation of cancer, it is also important to address other general factors that can add a load to the patient's immune system.  Just as the acoustics of a room can enhance the experience of music, optimizing the immunity environment in the body can enhance the effectiveness of Immunotherapy.   The manifestation of tumors in the body means cancerous cells are growing and replicating and of course drawing resources from the body in order to feed this growth.  If left uncontested the progression of the disease draws increasingly more resources from the body until the imbalance is unrecoverable.     There are several factors that can complement the application of Full Spectrum Specific Immunotherapy and they are discussed below.

General Well Being
General Well Being

One of the first signs of the effectiveness of a Full Spectrum Specific Immunotherapy treatment is an improvement in the patients overal clinical condition.  Increase in appetite, improved energy levels and general wellbeing are signs of improved clinical condition.  Of course if the patient has a good clinical condition when treatment is started,  FSSI can be more effective in controlling the spread of disease.  In such a case, the immune system enhancements go directly towards treating the cancer and do not have to address the additional load of a deteriorated clinical condition.  It is therefore extremely beneficial to start immunotherapy treatment as soon as possible to increase the probabilities of success.

Cancer is Not a Death Sentence

As a cancer patient it is important that you accept this idea for yourself.  Being diagnosed with Cancer is not an automatic death sentence. We have many patients that are leading happy healthy lives for decades after they were first diagnosed with Cancer.  Just like any high risk aspect of life it is important to manage the risks and maintain the proper balance.  Left unchallenged, Cancer will progress so far out of balance that it can become unrecoverable. It is, therefore,  extremely important to address treatment early.  We believe that Immunotherapy is a key ingredent for successful management many forms of Cancer.  Coupled with the fact that this therapy does not in any way limit your quality of life, it is an ideal choice for any patient committed to recovering from Cancer.

Time is of the essence

The application of the first phase of FSSI takes five months.  It is possible to see clinical improvements as early as three months. But it is essential to give the patient as much time as possible to increase the chances of success.  Although FSSI has been effective in some extreme cases where all seemed lost, starting the treatment as early as possible greatly increases the chances its effectiveness.

Emotional/Spiritual
Emotional/Spiritual

Emotional and Spiritual balance are an integral part of your recovery from Cancer.  Whether you find that inner peace in a church, on a meditation cushion or by hiking in the forest, most everyone agrees that reducing stress and finding a place of balance in your self can only have positive effects in your life and in your treatment.  At the very least it allows you  to make better choices by viewing your options calmly and with improved focus.  Or maybe the inner strength gained from your spiritual pursuits will give you fortitude in the difficult times and allow you to continue through periods of difficulty on the road to healing.  If these ideas are new to you, we would be glad to recommend simple ways to improve your balance in this important aspect of life.

Nutrition
Nutrition

A balanced nutrition is important to keep the immune system active and functional.  Extreme diets are not required but a sensible diet will go a long way to support your immune system induction process.  One of our doctors will discuss with you a specific nutrition plan that fits your needs and your lifestyle.

A Little Exercise Goes a Long Way
A Little Exercise Goes a Long Way

Keeping your body active is an important part of your overall plan to return your body to a healthy balance.  The right exercise routine depends on many factors including your lifestyle and past exercise experience.  Although some of our patients run ten miles a day, some others take short walks to complement their immunotherapy treatment.   Be sure to discuss your exercise requirements with your doctor during the initial phases of your treatment.
